Sea Life Puffy Quilt

Phew I am behind on my blogging! I finished this quilt a few weeks ago and am finally telling you all about it, for shame! I absolutely love how this one turned out! I love navy and the other colors look so good with it in the finished product. This is a quilt for a new boy nugget who's daddy is a fisherman, hence the fishes in the main print. Check out the last picture for a larger piece of the main print I used, it's super fun and cute for a little one without being barf cute (you know what I mean):

Thanks to Corina for requesting the quilt and to HoneyBear Lane for her awesome tutorial. You can get your own tutorial to make a similar quilt from HoneyBear Lane here: QUILT
Enjoy!

Evan's Puffy Quilt

Awhile back (like summer or fall 2010) I bought some crazy fun fabric from the Monaluna Circa 50 line that had rockets and moons on it. I figured it would be perfect for someone eventually (hello NASA), but after seeing how much Evan liked his sister's puffy quilt I knew I had to make him one too. The Monaluna fabric had teal and orange in it which I decided would be so much fun for a little boy and thus Evan's puffy quilt was born! Here are some pictures of the finished product:

When I dropped the quilt off on Monday, I was treated to delicious dinner involving some seriously yummy grilled asparagus as well as some good conversation with Evan. I may have only understood about 25% but he sure does have a lot to say nowadays, so cute! Thanks for having me over, Crisps!

Remember, if you want to make your own puffy quilt, you can buy the tutorial from HoneyBear Lane here: PUFFY. Enjoy!

Puffy Christmas!

It's going to be a very puffy Christmas for some very special little nuggets out there. Here are two puff quilt blankets I just completed using the Honeybear Lane tutorial:

And in case you missed them, two that I've made in the past:

Hands down the best baby gift ever. Fo serious.

Random Assortment of Things

Here are some random updates: first, I recently received a new bowl for my Kitchen Aid mixer from my sister as a suuuper early Christmas present! I was beyond excited to open that baby up. Having two bowls for my mixer will allow me to do things like mix ingredients and then whip egg whites into a meringue to add to the previous ingredients without killing my hand. I also wanted a glass bowl so that I could just throw it in the dishwasher. Yes, I know you can put the stainless steel one in the dishwasher, but I prefer to not do that. Here is my most exciting new kitchen accessory:

In the mixer, and yes that stack of papers are my "To try" recipe pile:

Two bowls!:

Next is a super fun announcement from Etsy that I thought all my Houston readers would be especially interested in, a NASA crafting contest! The NASA & Etsy Space Craft Contest: To the Moon and Beyond is a contest where you create something that honors the Space Shuttle Program. You can read more details here: ETSY and read the official rules etc here: NASA. The deadline is November 2, 2010 so get crafting!

Finally, I've been working on another puff quilt via the HoneyBear Lane Tutorial and here is a sneak preview of the front of the quilt:

Only 13 days until Kait Baker's wedding! Yippee!
