Evan's 4th Birthday Party

This particular nugget is getting older so fast! I feel like every time I turn around he's bigger and talking more intelligently and just getting more awesome in general. I got to do his birthday party cupcakes again this year and the theme was batman. In order to avoid doing straight black cupcakes I made them chocolate with blue frosting and created the Batman symbol out of chocolate. They turned out pretty cute and the nuggets seemed to enjoy them, or at least the frosting!

The party was at Jumpin Jungle in Clear Lake, which was a really efficient and fun place for a party in case you're looking, so many bounce houses!

NYE

Ringing in the New Year once again! Unfortunately, December 31st delivered miserable weather so Steph and I were a bit derailed from our plans of partying downtown. We instead went to a friend's house and celebrated a little more low key. I can't complain when there is Catch Phrase involved though! Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's, here are a few pics from mine:

Jaxon's 6th Birthday Party

Next up on the kiddo birthday train was Jaxon’s 6^th birthday. His awesome parents got him a giant bouncy castle, outdoing themselves every year seems to be the goal because this one had a basketball court and a giant slide. His birthday was Avengers themed so I made Captain America’s shield in cupcake form.

They turned out pretty good once I finally found those darn white stars. Seriously, every time I need a specific decoration it is nowhere to be found in stores. I can’t believe Jaxon is getting so big/old (and how have I become old enough to start making statements like that?!). I’ll include this gem to show him when I met him:

And truthfully, this was probably more like a few months after we met him since we were babysitting. Craziness!

NYE 2010!!!

Another year has passed, oh my! I love NYE because I always love an excuse to dress up and drink champagne. This year I went to a friend's house and took part in the usual debauchery. tons of food (I made French macarons, more to come on that), tons of booze, and tons of friends (and 3 pregnant ladies too!). LG Reunion Party in DC

This weekend I traveled to DC for a variety of wonderful reasons. 1) My amazing friend, Kait Baker, was getting married on the 23rd 2) Christine was going to be there and since her wedding we've been separated for the longest time since we met, a reunion was in order and 3) My favorite CRC lifeguards were having a long overdue reunion party! Obviously lots of fun to be had. I arrived at BWI around 9pm- just in time to see the Yankees blow the 5th inning (and subsequently the entire game) of their must-win ALCS game. Then Christine arrived and all was better! Wonderful Meredith picked us up from the airport and we were en route to DC. The party had already started at grace's apartment and I was super excited to see lots of long lost faces like Ron$, Liz, and Hannah Banana as well as the faithful reunion faces like Lindsey and Grace. Evan Turns 1!

My friends Amy and Brian had a birthday party for their little nugget, Evan this weekend. He's already 1 year old! So crazy! There was lots of delicious bbq and munchies and even a bouncy castle that the adults seemed to thoroughly enjoy. Since it's World Cup time I got Evan a USA World Cup skills ball (basically a really small soccer ball) and some cones for when he's up and running and needs to practice his mad football skills. January Goings On

I realize that I haven't made any posts about the daily shenanigans of my life. Probably because I haven't been doing much this January. I did, however, attend a super fun cocktail party at my friend Ali's house last weekend. Her house was wonderful and I'm an idiot for not getting a picture of the extremely intricate quilt she had made and hung over her fireplace. All the usual suspects were in attendance, Club Haven, Steph, Laura, etc. Here are a few shots from the party:
